How do I use the Quick Search and Quick Links sections?
(Posted on Sunday, 25 November 2001 by Dragon)
Quick Links are shortcuts to your favourite websites. Some people use the Bookmarks or Favourites folders. Some have their own personal home pages. Quick Links falls somewhere in between, allowing you to set anime.org.uk as your startup page, and have instant links to all your favourite pages.
Quick links comes in two parts. The first is the information and quick search box. This acts as an instant search engine allowing you to quickly find information and websites. The second is the customisable section where you can add your own links, in as many categories as you want.
Quick Search
Simply type in the entry you are looking for and then select the appropriate entry. If you wish to search the Internet via Google then just press the Google entry. If you wish to search Amazon or United Publications then again type in what you are looking for and press the appropriate entry. Quick Search is not customisable by you, whoever we will accept any nominations for entries. Each worthy nomination is worth 10 Zigs.
Quick Links.
All entries entered here are under your control. It is up to you to create whatever categories and add the various links. To add a Category simple click the Add option under the categories. A prompt will appear asking you for the name of the category. To modify any entry simply click the tick box next to the item and select the appropriate option.
To add an actual link, select the tick box of the category and click Add under the links section. You will first be prompted for a Name of the site. You will then be prompted for the actual URL. NB. Don't forget to add the http:// option to the URL.
Quick Links uses cookies to store your link entries.
For anime.org.uk users who use browsers from different locations ie. Home and Work, there is the option to upload your links onto your user identity, and then retrieve them from another browser. This will only work if you have become a member of anime.org.uk and created a profile.
